Dee Dee came into Rebecca’s life in 2011 after the rescue organisation Dachshund Rescue Australia contacted Rebecca and asked her to care for him temporarily after he had been rescued from a puppy farm that had been shut down due to its horrendous conditions. He came into her home with severe ear mites, a stomach infection, scared, timid, and extremely vocal. Thus she named him Dee Dee Ramone after a member of one of her favourite NYC punk band The Ramones.

Rebecca agreed to help but she wasn’t sure if she was ready for a new dog after the loss of her beloved Leila.

Needless to say.
